Showcase #1 revolves around the AEL field and focuses on the validation of a manufacturing pilot line owned by Fraunhofer IFAM. This pilot line consists of a new automated spray coater with a coating area of industrially relevant size paired with a heating treatment system that allows the preparation of electrodes on different substrates. For the validation, innovative catalysts and inks from De Nora are used to produce electrodes on foam substrates. These electrodes are tested in a single cell configuration at different pressures (BTU), paired with both commercial and innovative membranes from AGFA. The final optimised electrodes are then tested in a short stack configuration at IFAM facility.
